Whether a non-compete holds up in each state: the enforceability band, the factors courts look at, the earnings thresholds where a state sets them, and the latest change note. 166 rows across 51 jurisdictions, with a statute citation and a source link on every row.

Laws change after the file ships. Feed subscribers hear about it when it happens: an alert is sent at signing, with the old rule, the new rule, the citation, and the date the change takes effect — plus a refreshed file and a quarterly re-verification stamp. A short example, from a real row in the Noncompete table:
Old rule: non-competes are enforceable above the earnings thresholds (2026: $126,858.83 for employees), with an 18-month presumptive limit.
New rule: virtually all non-competes are void, retroactively, and even attempting enforcement carries a $5,000 penalty.
From the packaged Washington rows (ESHB 1155). The full example alert is on the Noncompete Rules page.
Each row names its statute, carries the date it was verified (release 2026.10: 2026-10-26), and can be checked against the primary source in minutes. When a cell turns out to be wrong, the correction is re-issued to every licensee — buyers are told, nothing is quietly patched. Read the method, the cadence, and the limits of the claim on the verification page.
